IPW US Travel 2017 atrai o trade turístico para Washington (IPW U.S.Travel attracts the tourist trade to Washington)

Com mais de 6.400 participantes de 70 países, incluindo mais de 1.300 compradores (buyers) dos Estados Unidos e do resto do mudo e um número recorde de 530 jornalistas internacionais, a U.S Travel Association realiza com sucesso, em Washington, D.C, o 49o IPW (International Pow Wow).

Pela primeira vez na história do evento se realiza de 3 a 7 de Junho, no Walter E. Washington Convention Center na capital americana.

O evento reune representantes do turismo em suas diversas categorias, desde hotéis, agentes de viagens, operadores de turismo, jornalistas e todos que fazem parte da cadeia produtiva do turismo.

Durante cinco dias mais de 112 mil encontros de negócios foram realizados gerando uma expectativa de 4.7 bilhões de dólares em fechamento de pacotes turísticos para os Estados Unidos, segundo pesquisa independente da empresa Rockport Analytics.

Na abertura do evento  Roger Dow, Presidente e CEO da U.S.Travel Association apresentou a campanha do “One Big Welcome” que vai estar sendo divulgada no mundo inteiro. Esta mensagem foi apresentada no discurso do Secretário de Comercio dos Estados Unidos, Wilbur Ross, que no evento representou o presidente Donald Trump.

O IPW 2017 deve gerar 1.7 bilhões de dolares para a economia de Washingon (DC), bem como a expectativa de atrair mais de um milhão de visitantes.

A prefeita de Washington, Muriel Bowser, que realiza um excelente trabalho no comando da cidade em seu discuso convidou a todos a visitar os museus, quase todos gratuitos, monumentos, restaurants  e a diversidade dos bairros.  A prefeita que foi guia de turismo aproveito para acompanhar alguns jornalistas internacionais pela cidade.

No programa do evento, a cidade de Nova York ofereceu durante almoço uma previa dos shows da Broadway. Houve ainda show do artista Aloe Blacc.



No próximo ano o evento vai ser realizado de 19 a 23 de Maio na cidade de Denver, Colorado.

More than 6,400 attendees from 70 countries, including over 1,300 international and domestic travel buyers and a record 530 journalists from the U.S. and abroad, attended the U.S. Travel Association’s 49th annual IPW.

The event  brings travel professionals from every corner of the country—including representatives from destinations, hotels, attractions, sports teams, transportation companies and other travel -related businesses—together with the world’s top international tour operators and wholesalers that send travelers to the U.S.

Over the course of five days, a record of more than 112,000 pre-scheduled meetings were conducted between travel buyers and U.S. travel suppliers (including destinations, hotels and attractions), with
an expectation to bring over $4.7 billion in direct bookings to U.S. destinations from abroad over the next three years, according to the independent research firm Rockport Analytics.

During the opening ceremony Roger Dow, President & CEO of U.S.Travel Association presented a unified message to all international buyers, media and potential visitors in attendance: “One Big Welcome” imagery all around the show floor. That message was echoed by U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in his speech. Wilbur Ross represented the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

IPW  2017 expect to generate  three years following this year’s event an estimated $1.7 billion in economic impact to the District, and attract more than one million additional visitors to the region during that time.

The Mayor of Washington, Muriel Bowser, who does an excellent job at the helm of the city,  in his speech, invited everyone to visit what the city has to offer: free museums entrance, monuments, restaurants and the diversity of neighborhoods. The mayor who was a tour guide took the opportunity to accompany some international journalists around the city.

In the event's program, the city of New York offered during lunch a preview of the Broadway shows. There was also a show by the artist Aloe Blacc and many others during the five days of IPW 2017.

Next year the event will be held May 19-23 in the city of Denver, Colorado.
